First Springish Monday Memo

Collaborative Response Meetings Just when we start asking questions about our students, wondering what's up with them, and questioning each other about kids...  it's the perfect time to have a CRM meeting. It is time to catch up and take action with some students. CRM meetings will take place in High Level and Rainbow Lake this week. Getting together to purposefully discuss our students sets the course for the next two months. We started strong and would like to finish just as strongly.  Thank You Thank you to the High Level staff for hosting three Nait representatives. Students learned about the programs and so did we. Students and staff built a spring box. The best part of the visit was listening to the instructor's stories of how they came to be interested in woodworking.  Thank you to Holly and Bonnie for attending the community gardens meeting. While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

Diploma Week

Diploma week is always a busy week for us. Diplomas run this entire week and into next for biology 30. Huge thanks go out to Alex who will be supervising that diploma for this student. He will get a day in lieu when he's able to enjoy a golf game I would imagine.  Schedules Diploma week has our schedules changing No teacher is going to Rainbow this week except me to pick up diplomas and to supervise a diploma.  No teachers will go to Fort this week as teachers are supervising exams.  No teacher will go to Blue Hills this week.   Anne High Level- Monday Fort Vermilion Tuesday pm- High Level- Wednesday Rainbow- Thursday supervise the exam Friday- supervise math in High Level Thinking About Our community of Fort Vermilion has suffered through a week of loss with five community members passing away, young to old.  Many of our students have connections to these people. It's Tuesday...

Already I have fallen into the trap that it is Monday. No. It is Tuesday. This is the week we prepare our students for their diplomas, which are next week. Please be sure to get in touch with your students who are writing and spend time with them.
