June You have Come too Soon!!!

Image
Welcome June !!!! Okay, so did I miss something here! It is June already! Where did time go? We were so busy putting our faces to the sunshine that we over looked the fact that there are 20 schools days till year end.  If I get buzzzyyyy now I will be ahead of the game. This morning I will do my comments for grade six Skills For adolescence. I can also look over the budget. I can review secretarial resumes. I can also get things ready for the new principal. This week we are handing out the year end duties sheets. There may be somethings you can get to before the year end rush. That makes for a calm relaxing year end where we wind down with grace, not chaos!  Planning for closure is as important as start up. Grounding our kids and having them recall all that you've accomplished over the year is integral. Doing fun energizers and activities to bring them closer before they leave each other is necessary. Teaching them how to say good bye and have a good sum

Still feeling the LOVE from Friday!!!

It's hard to describe!  Its hard to describe the feeling you get when you know all we've taught the kids translates to other situations. Friday was a little test for our kids to see how they manage with different kids, with really warm weather and with different adults to deal with. They rocked it! Hearing the conversation, all groups celebrated the day and had a ton of fun! Kids were kind and compassionate and the adults made it a totally fun day too. What a great feeling knowing that our kids are fabulous people whatever we do with them, wherever we take them.  Huge thanks to all who organized and cleaned up after that event. It was huge and took lots of time to put together and take down. We thank you for your time and commitment to the success of this day.  Celebrations  Erica got her first assignment back and got 100%. Way to go girl!!! Celebrate each victory.  Cheri and Janelle signed their continuous contracts this morning. That means they a

Vision

Ever had to be Pushed to See Something Differently? I had totally given up on my front garden, nothing ever grew there except weeds and dust, probably because I didn't ever water it! I ignored the mess that garden had become and really saw it as a hopeless space. Then came my neighbor Robbie, who shared his vision of splendor for the garden. Thus, from his vision my garden was transformed and I realized if I put a little work into that garden it could be beautiful, a source of pride and a space where I can find peace, while watering and tending it. Kids are like that too. We label someone as hopeless, non caring, figuring he/she won't change, yet, if we do a 360 and see him/her from a different angel we can see so much promise. Just a little attention, and tending to him/her and we have a  child - who blossoms into the person he/she was destined to be!!    I had pictures of my new garden but my phone isn't compatible with Google something ??? so it won't work. The Gift of a Day

Image
Today is a gift you've been given. Enjoy it. Mom's be grateful for the attention. It's hard to accept recognition from others when you always give, but today, just enjoy! Let people thank you and love you. Don't discount how much you mean to others. Enjoy!! Cool news @ FVSD gave us $5000 worth of books for reluctant readers. @FVSD is going to change out our extremely slow laptops for chrome books. Kids can log on in seconds! What a relief!!!!  We will receive Pd on chrome books on Friday morning. We are hoping you will get one then too!! Keep your fingers crossed.  Thanks so much for all you did this week. # Thanks to Shane who took our robotic kids and iron chef kids to La Crete for a competition. As i understand it our robotics kids cleaned up and our iron chef kids rocked too!  Thanks to Janelle, Michelle and Shane who helped with the movie. Our kids are running most things have supervisors is fabulous. We raised over $700. The movie was hilarious!!
