Good day Everyone, You make your own weather. It may be Spring on Vancouver Island but we have a little ways to go yet. Whatever the weather, you make your own weather. The way to react to the day makes your own weather.  I just wrote in my journal the three things I was grateful for that is so calming and it makes me smile that I am fortunate and know it. Hoping this exercise makes you think deeply and know you are someone who is clear and  can see the beauty around you. Beauty in people and in nature and in moments.   Yesterday some students and I watched three ravens chasing each other for over two minutes it was the most fabulous feat of flying tricks ever. We all laughed at how agile they were through the trees. They just weren't giving up, they wanted the first raven's cookie, Must have been chocolate chip!  Hugs and Positive thoughts wanted; Michelle's Mom Roberta, the toughest lady I know, is battling the big C . She is a fellow educator loved by many k

Wow, what temperatures! Spring is wanting to arrive, I can feel her in the air! It is light until about 8:00 now. Please note that on Friday we had two little people who had fits and when we put them in the room they slept soundly for a couple of hours. The growliness and the grumpiness aren't planned, these kids are just tired. I'm owly when I'm tired, kids aren't any different. Got a grumpy kid, try having him/her come for a little nap and see if that will get them back to learning.  Staffing We welcome back an integral part of out staff, Shane. It's never okay when one of us is out. We feared we may lose him for the year, thankfully that isn't the case ( this week). We're so fortunate to have you back, the kids have been asking for you, staff and parents too. Especially, Mrs. Ried!   Braedyn is in for the library- Monday and Tuesday Perry is in for Marvin Monday and Tuesday. Sheena Pittman is in for Michelle on Monday. Eve Lyne Gauthier is

Technology Connecting Us

Is Technology Connecting Us or Dividing us???? Parents say its doing both. Never before have parents been so connected to their children. never before have families had so many ways to keep in touch, when away from one another. Yet, they say the type of communication is different. It consists of short snips of conversation, really nothing ever deep and thought provoking. Parents are scared of the evolution of communication. Will they be able to keep up? Scared of the changing social norms. Scared of not knowing. They are afraid for their children's safety on digital devises. They are afraid of  the fact their children have blind faith in anything they see on those devises.  Tomorrow we will talk to the kids about technology. Do they think it divides us or connects us?  *********** This week,  I'd  like you to answer on the blog whether you think it connects us or divides us and we will try to keep a discussion going. All those involved in that discussion will all recei
