 Already I have fallen into the trap that it is Monday. No. It is Tuesday. This is the week we prepare our students for their diplomas, which are next week. Please be sure to get in touch with your students who are writing and spend time with them. There should be no surprises for them if you have prepared them well for their exams.

 Instruction and Programming

 PD day in La Crete today.

 Success!!!- Last week a student who has been away for a year came to school. 

 It is now official that the board has decided Zama school will be closed for three years. It will remain open for the remainder of the year with Janet there as the secretary.  Janet and I will pack up all the books etc. The two portables will be moved from the property and the school will be right-sized so the heating costs will not be too extravagant. It is such a sad thought.... to close that school. The kids that were in this community were vibrant, curious and loved learning. What school exists where you sit in your desk and look out at the buffalo on the playground. We will close this school with grace and honor it the way it should be. 

 Northern Forestry Education Society seeking members. If you are interested in our forests this committee would love to have you attend its' AGM on April 11th at 6:30 for a free super, good company and some education about the trails we've built and Science camps we've held. See Anne for more details. 

 Diplomas- are we ready? Do we have pencils? Do we have granola bars and juice for the writers? Do the students know when they are writing? Have you prepared your students? NO surprises. 
Student Wellness Referrals- If you have students who are struggling with wellness please let me know and we will see what we can do to get them the services they need. There are services in all communities. 

 Blue Hills has a desktop and printer now, just a few more things to iron out then we are set. Shelf arrives this week. 

 This week is the best week to get things done with our kids. Make contact get them in. 

 CRM in La Crete on Friday. 

 High Level CRM notes are available. Please check your action items. 

 Nait is coming top High level on April 25th. Two journeyman carpenters are coming with them. Put this up on the boards we will transport kids if they want to come to this.

    Ill know its Spring when my kids dont need to wear winter clothes, and the boy lives outside ALL DAY!

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Report Card Week

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. It's Okay to Have Bad Days

I had to reassure myself that it is okay to have a bad day when flying back from Toronto.  Firstly, my flight was delayed in leaving, which meant I would miss my connector to GP.  Steve had to drive to Edmonton in the rain to get me. Next, I got on the plane and a very tall very intimidating man was sitting in my window seat. I get it,  planes are small and he just wouldn't fit in the center but I would! I sat pretzeled  in the middle, but maybe this wouldn't be so bad... I was so ready to chow down on my wine gums and potato chips, (food calms me),  when the passenger to the left of me sat down. He was the guy in the restaurant who already witnessed me eating a whole plate of gravy covered poutine and drinking a tall, light colored brew!! Crap! I then listen to how he has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and has run 38 marathons around the world, he is doing his 39th next week.
