Monday memo Sunday, October 27

Sundays are great days. Hope you are using yours well.

A smile that could melt a glacier.

Hoping you noticed the smiles when Story theater presented and when Our Metis Aerobics Instructor did her jiggy thing. The smiles were from kids we knew would like it,and then the sparkly smiles came from kids we would never guess we could impact in that way. Priceless.
Our next presenter is a storm chaser. I saw him about twenty times on TV last weekend. Their crew does a FORD F 150 commercial. Then we have no one booked for a while as not many people venture to our country in the deep of winter. Kids learn in different ways this week we saw that.

Thanks so much to you all. Seriously do you know how great you are???

We managed Friday really well. It was our toughest day for lack of subs but we did it horay

Huge thanks go out to our Erica who is the master of many jobs around here. Her Fun, calm and cool presence is loved by kids and appreciated by us all. Thanks for being so flexible. We are not going to try as hard as we canto avoid using her to sub as speech is ready to go.

Thanks to the TA's for covering with John. He really is too much fun even when he's stubborn. Took him out to the trails and he couldn't stop talking while he was there. He saw fish and squirrels and threw sticks and got to be a boy. What a joy that was to watch! Wished I would have taken a picture of him sitting on the bench watching the ducks fly over the lake and calling out to them. It was a beautiful thing to watch. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks to all who had a hand in the movie Friday night. You volunteerism is soooo appreciated. The kids will soon be able to do those movies almost entirely on their own, we are hoping to train them well.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT

Student Internet Use: I has come to my attention through parent conversation in our community that many of our children are playing inappropriate games on the computers.  Games called Slenderman  and 5 Nights of Freddie are being accessed. I saw it and thought it pretty disgusting. Games with blood gore, guns weapons , games that scare and have demons etc.. are not acceptable at this school. Kids need to get off those sites if they don't they lose their computer. Kids are stupider after playing those games. We don't go for stupider. Watch the kids  closely they switch screens when you come.- topic for assembly this week.

Supervision- Take conflicts seriously or they get out of control. When you see a game going wrong ( soccer, jackpot, four square) try to fix it if not let us know we will straighten it out- Topic for assembly this week.

Precision Reading- We are going to start this in classes after re[port cards go out. Each class has the capacity to do this with their kids. We will provide the training. 5 minutes per day for each underachieving reader. can you please identify three of four kids in your class who do not receive resource, are below grade level and could use some reading intervention. Send the list to me By Friday please.

Recycling- Can't say how disgusting it is guys. Hot dogs, rotten milk, full juice containers, paper, straws in juice boxes ick... beyond measure. Student council will speak to your kids about this. Please send it down every single week. if you do that gross will be kept to a minimum. Your class may smell better.
