Reclaiming Youth

Dr. Martin Brokenleg spoke at our PD on Friday. I wished you all could have heard him. We can take away something from most everyone we listen to, he spoke about connections. It is a focus for us this year, to connect to our kids. When we do, we know they are more productive, they move forward. They begin to feel successes. Everyone wants to feel valued and recognized. He says it everyone's job in our communities more our youth forward.

Yesterday, when walking, I heard some voices on the roof of a garage. When I looked over, it was several dual kids I know. I stopped and stared. They ran immediately which had me thinking... what are they up to.  I went behind the house where they were and waved to them. I now know who was there and can pass that info on to the home owner. It takes a village to raise a child, they need to know we care about what they are doing. We care enough to correct them, not punish them, but correct them.

We are so fortunate to have staff who truly care and make it a point to "Reclaim our Youth" daily.

Thank Yous

Huge Thanks to Julie and Alex for taking the time to work the Get To Know You Night in Fort. We had so much fun we laughed and laughed. We had our oldest participant in the People Bingo, she was 84. We also talked to several kids who were not in school. Hopes are they will register this week.

Thanks to Bonnie for organizing us for the OEC conference in Edmonton this weekend. We will get our rides figured out then we are good to go.

Thank you to Mark and Eric for taking in the Sped assist training. It is new and we can see its merits once all information is inputted.  Now its time to do those Ipp's , seem seem to have quite a few.

Thanks to Nicole who is motivating so many people in their Get Healthy Journeys. She is on-line with people from NFLD and a group of people from the North who are becoming more fit and moving toward wellness. She is a great motivator.

Huge thanks to Julie, Eva, Bonnie and Janet who took in the website training. Our new website will launch on October 6th. The ladies helped to make the sites the best they can be.

"Leaving school before you graduate high school is a train wreck for society. It affects the life of your children and your grandchildren."
