Last Week of April
We build character with our students. This anonymous piece of writing resonated with me. Would be great to hang somewhere for our kids to read, the bathroom perhaps.
If you're thankful, show it.
If you love someone, tell them.
If you are wrong fess up.
If you're confused, ask a question.
If you learm something, teach others.
If you are stuck, ask for help.
If you make a mistake, apologize.
If you trip , get back up.
If someone needs help, help them.
If you see wrong take a stance.
Some Notes
*Grads- Our grads are in limbo right now. Just waiting to see what outdoor numbers will be for gatherings. If they are confused and worried, we can't eliviate that for a bit yet.
* All High Level Schools have clsses that are out, we are still running normally in High Level. The students who did have covid had not been into the school, phew. Everyone gets a turn, keep our fingers crossed that we skip this turn, pass go and collect $500.
* Had the opportunity to get some FNMI money returned to our kids. Spoke with Mike, Karen, Norman, and Scot. Told them what our financial needs are and we will wait to see if the $33,000 is reenstated and perhaps more added.
* Plans for the new building will be complete within the next week and a half.
* Mike has okayed changes we asked for to our hours for next year. Our new hours will change to 8:30 to 3:30 next year. Several staff work 7 hours they will continue with those hours.
* Mike has okayed us using the high schools for CTS after 3:00 when we require it. That can be quite a cool thing. Will take some planning and flexible scheduling where perhaps a teacher starts at one and works till 7, on special occasions. I did that last Thursday and students really enjoyed the flexibility, so did I.
* We close our doors on June 18th. Please let the kids know that.
* So many thanks for the excellent work put into report cards by all. Doing report cards requires us all to know exactly what that student has completed, so many conversations had to take place for us to complete them. It's all so good.
*Thanks to you for enaging our kids all over the community. We know that you chat with kids in the grocery store, outdoors when you are walking, and when you are places with your family. Some of your best connections are made then. Your taking the time to enage makes a huge difference.
*Personal days- Thanks for putting in your requests early, that assists us in planning.
* Be Careful- Please be careful of watching the news incessantly, very little good can come from that. We have to be hopeful that this will be a good summer. If you listen to the news you will want to curl up in a ball. We know things will be better in two months, it will. Speaking of Anxiety......
*Anxiety workshop in High Level Thursday. Friday an anxiety workshop takes place in La Crete. Our students listed anxiety as the third most important issue in their lives. These sessions will assist us all.
* Annelise had an excellent idea about projecting our enrollment for next year. Can we keep notes on our student contact list when we find out the student's plans please? That will assist us in making projections.
