So excited!!

Calm is cool, during wind down days of any school. However, you just can't help but be excited for summer. It's important to realize that to some kids, summer is not a lovely time, not a time  for travelling, or a time when they lounge in a pool, or relax on a golf course. For some kids, summer is a time when no one checks on them, when they are defenceless against negative influencers and when they are bored. Students need to know what options there are over the summer. They can get a job. They can volunteer. They can go to Eagles Nest. They can work on some courses. They can build skills. Talk to students about their summer.

Congratulations

Congratulations go to Jenine and her family as Madison is graduating from dental assisting school. They get to celebrate with her this weekend. Great opportunity to get family together. 

Nicole gets to go back to NFLD for the summer she leaves Friday. Enjoy the time with your family!!

Congrats to High Level Learning Store we had our BBQ and awards ceremony. Students were honored and we had a lovely time chatting and eating and eating and eating!!! Thanks to the staff for  pitching in to make it a great day.

I am in La Crete Tuesday.

I am in High Level on Thursday.
I am in High Level taking you all out to lunch on Friday. 


Events 

La Crete's BBQ is tomorrow at 11:30 in a park.
We look forward to having a ton of fun and recognizing students for their achievements. 

Rainbow Lake students will get their awards this week- Sam and Dakotah.

Zama students will get their awards on Wednesday pm. 

Julie, Darren, Alex talk to me about Fort awards. Not sure who we award there?? 

Lunch Friday noon at BP for all staff Learning Stores and Zama. We will end our year off right.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
