Keep Calm and Put Others First

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON CUSTOMISED MUG
A huge welcome to Dani Chilcott the newest member to our team. She already has a list of things we will do in Fort. Love it!!! This week Dani and I will take Julie out for lunch and present her with her going away gift. We know she will be the best at helping people at Victims Services.

Keep Calm and Put Others First

What is so cool about our five schools? It's the fact we put others first before ourselves. Not one of our schools has a staff room we hide in, gossip and grumble in. Our students see us for who we are, all day long. You have great relationships with our students and that's not that easy to do. They are very fortunate that it is us manning their schools, it's obvious we care! We've got an excellent staff; that is what makes our five schools great places to learn. Thanks for Keeping Calm and putting others first.

Thank yous

Thanks to Bonnie and her fabulous crew of Gaye and Connie who collected thousands of dollars worth of toys for our High Level community Christmas hampers. Recipients of these hampers are families from the High Level Schools who self identified, as being in need,  this includes several of our Learning Store Kids. If you know of a student of ours in ANY school who is in need, please let us know and we will make Christmas happen for them (if they agree to accept.)

Thanks to Gaye who gave the decorated tree she won  to a High Level student. I delivered it to her hotel room and she said, " I never thought I'd see a Christmas tree this year." She poked my heart!

Thanks to Jenine for getting a happy light for the Rainbow Learning Store. They make such a huge difference over long cold winters. Dani, I bought one for the Fort learning Store. Zama , High Level and La Crete have garden towers whose lights are happy lights. Would be great to get them on in the winter.

Thanks to Alex, Darren and Eva for the Wing Night in La Crete. 16 people showed up for parent teacher interviews a 100% increase in the number we have ever had. It was a lovely night for everyone.

Thanks to our sewer extraordinaire Holly. Kids made pillow cases in High Level and they loved doing it!!

Thanks to Alex and Darren and Petra for creating student contact google documents. They are very easy to use and documentation of contacts is required by Alberta Ed.
Thanks to all schools for keeping such close contact with our students.

Thanks to Mark, Nicole and Janet for starting a student rewards store. Kids will get rewards bucks for various things especially at home reading.

Thanks to Holly and Eva for caring for our fish in La Crete and High level. The students just love these fish. Amazing how a fish can get a kid talking.

Events Happenings- Do you know December is coming this week???

Please... could I have each location tell me when your events are in December. I am balancing five locations and don't want to miss out on any cool things that are happening at your schools. I will call you to help me fill in the calendar.

Credits are rolling in for all locations- Wow! High level students are to be celebrated they are completing so much work! They earned over 180 credits. Students in other locations are impressing us too. Let's keep this roll going....

Diplomas- we should have our students signed up already for diplomas. Please send me an email if there is any student writing a diploma that requires accommodations. The deadline is passed and I do not have any students down for accommodations in January. Just confirm with me and I will get the paperwork flying.

IPP's for students with mild moderate codings are due this Wednesday. Zama has three of these students.

Budgets- we are on budget in all locations. Even below budget in several schools. I will forward the specifics when central sends out the mini budget in the next two weeks.

First Aide PD - There is a First aide pd happening in La Crete on Dec 28 and 29. Eva is thinking of taking that one. You will be paid if you attend this one. We will pay for the course. Just let me know.

ADMINISTRATORS EVALUATION

You know how you get evaluated ,when you are new to your job, well, the same happens for me!
The school division evaluates me on my progress as an administrator.
They do it through something called a direct report. It is four pages in length and it is all about me. I in turn read them then hand them in to central office personnel and they base part of my evaluation on these pages. Everyone is welcome to fill one out, I am being evaluated on December 19th am. I appreciate your time in filling them out. If you have questions please ask me, I can help clarify. Before you say I dont know, please ask me I might be able to give you some info on that end.
