We Will Remember...

A note that this Wednesday we are required to have a minute of silence at 11:00 in our schools. Have a chat amongst your school as to who will lead this minute of silence. There are some terrific videos on You Tube which inspire our students to give thanks to those who came before them. I recall my Grandpa being 17 and stationed off the coast of Newfoundland. The threat that The war would come across the sea was real. My dad  was a loadmaster on a Hercules. He travelled the world bringing supplies to devastated areas of the world. My brother is an RCMP who has many stories to tell, as do many canadians.
We give many thanks to those who care for us and selflessly look after us.

Huge Thanks to you!
Double thanks goes out to Nicole and Janet Hackett for subbing in for Mark Pelley while he was out for a medical appointment. The ladies rallied to cover for Eve-lyn who hit the ditch on her way to Zama and was in no condition to press on. Zama is the coolest community where everyone looks after each other. These ladies never gave it a second thought to help us out! We so appreciate that.

Thanks so much to Gail Stolz for providing soup and stew for our Learning Store kids in High Level. It is quite amazing to see how much these kids can eat!!! Gail realizes the way to their hearts is through their stomachs!

Thanks to La Crete for getting diplomas ready for me when I was out there. It meant that I could leave High Level at 7:30 instead of 7:00. I appreciated that.

Thanks to all teachers for preparing their students for diplomas. It gives them a fair chance when we take the time to explain what the exam entails. When reading their answers it was evident they had studied for the exam and understood the expectations.

Events/ Instruction and Programming

Report cards are due to me on November 15th by noon.  We need time to read them and sign them and get them ready for distribution. So marking should be caught up and marks in gradebook. This does give you time to call your students if you are missing things from them or if they need to do resubmits.

Tobacco Additions session comes to High Level at 10:30 on November 15th. Accompanying this lady are representatives from FASD and Action North. If you are wanting this type of event at your school just say the word and we will find a way to bring it to you.

Presentation to the board has been changed to January. I know,  a sigh of relief can be heard by all!

Next Monday the results review takes place at central office. I will be presenting to admin and Trustees members Zama and Learning Store school results.  We reviewed the Ed Plan and wrote all over it in May of  last year. I will present those results plus the Accountability Pillar survey results which are very, very good thanks to you!!!! Much improved from  2014/2015.

Staff meeting- Wednesday at 2:00 for High Level. 2:45 for La Crete. If you have a topic/issue/ compliment or concern to bring up please send it on to me. I would be pleased to add it.

Ipp's are due now. We have several in each school. 3 High Level. 3 in Zama. 2 in Fort.
Any student who is PGO with CFS requires a success in School Plan. I took part in my first Success in Schools Plan last week. Please keep your eyes out for those students, we need to do a separate success plan for each student.

Have a great short week. Please be sure to set our kids up with some modules as the school is closed for 4 days. They could get a lot done in that time frame.

Enjoy this condensed week.
