Just A Reminder...
Some of you have been with us for a whopping 14 days. Please realize, there is no way to master anything in just 14 days. You are/we are rocking it. You are the right fit for these students, you care ( believe me there are educators who don't ). You ask questions when needed, you patiently wait for answers. You already let students tell you their stories. One boy told me his Mom was having another baby. He is the quietest kid ever, so telling me that news was a celebration.
Thank you for handling one of the busiest start ups ever with grace, calm and laughter.
La Crete and High Level are over projections by over 25 students. Fort is up by 7 students. Rainbow is right where we knew it would be, perfect. The weird things about these students is that they are doing work!!! I know... right!!!! Alex has already marked over 90 modules and Chris is not far behind him. Sorry, I haven't checked with everyone else on that front, we know the students are serious about seeking an education.
So, cheers to a lovely year. You all impress me and the division, they are very complimentary!! We will all get to celebrate next Thursday when we close our schools at 12:00 so people can travel in. Please have kids out by five to so you are on the road at noon. we will treat you well and will have a great meeting. Mileage will be paid for you who drive. Support staff will be paid the extra hours they put in that day including the drive.
See she has a great sense of humor, Can't wait to hear Jody.

Last Friday, Chad took a group of 50 people to Gleaners to pick beets for families in need. The group picked tons of beets and enjoyed the gorgeous day. Thanks to Chad for thinking of such a cool service learning project.
Thanks to Stretegic whose cheque for $4800 we will receive this week. That money to High Level frees up funds for us to provide food to our other schools.
I have no idea what this means will find out Friday!!
Important things to Ponder
Teachers- FVSD Evalation guidelines- We are going to attempt to fit our core courses into their framework as best we can. Common asessments will be rereleased on October 1st. so core courses is where we use the framework. Now we realize there may be places it will not work. You are a teacher you are a professional let's figure it out. CTS courses etc we will continue with the way we always have. It will take us sitting together on Oct 4 for a half hour to get it the way we want it. No worries. Until then input as close to the framework as possible.
Staff meeting Thursday, October 4th from 1:30 to 4:00. If you have topics you'd like covered please let me know, I will add them to the agenda.
Student contacts- each staff member has students to make contact with weekly. In our efforts to connect more with our students we check in on them, make sure they are well and handing in work. By touching base they realize you care. This is a must.
Collaborative Response Meetings Second week of October- This is a meeting where we go over each student acess their needs and tier them in terms of resources needed. It is the best way to ensure all students are okay.
Education Plan will be sent in this week. It outlines our committment to building relationships with our students.
Evaluation letter will come out this week forsure. Sorry, they are late, still figuring out how to teach two days a week and do the principal job in five locations. I will figure it out someday, when I do I will let you know!!!
Last count happens on Sept 27th at noon, this is Thursday. We must be right with this count. If we have seen that student, we count them. If not we do not count them. I will share the counts with you when we are all done. Thanks to Eva and Bonnie for all the work that goes into making these counts so accurate.
