Grads are over, with the exception of Blue Hills Students. 
Many thanks to all of you for getting our students to grad. 
The phone calls, the grad plan meetings, the correcting, 
the teaching, and teaching again, then once more. The herding of cats,
the stalker calling, the losing hope then surprise! That student 
returns after seeing the grad banners!!! this year was a wild ride
but we did it! Our students were recognized and celebrated! 
Congratulations grads and congratulations staff, without your perserverance 
grad would not have happened.

Wrap it all Up Folks

 Linda- We are wrapping things up with Linda this week. Wow!  Linda has been rescuing us for 5 years. She has always been there with great ideas, laser focus on students and a willingness to do for others. Serving others is key and Linda lives those words. She even did a grad video with staff that sums it up!! It is below. Enjoy!!! 


 You will be missed Linda. Please stay in touch. Will you sub???????????????

Awards-  We are going to talk next Monday. How  does this look this year?  Other schools are giving out their awards in various ways, seems monetary awards are rare. This is the time to change it up and make it better. 

 Report cards go out on Friday. Let's get them done asap. 

 Education Plan is due Wednesday.

 Materials return/chromebooks- need to put the word out that we would appreciate the return of materials. 

 Clean Up Clean Up everybody everywhere.... Please look around and see what can be organized, thrown out, replaced etc... for the start up next year. Preparing for the next year is a necessity. 

 PD- next week will be PD for us all, except Linda, (we chose to use her time servicing students). 
Monday PD in High Level- Please bring along your favorite potluck dish. We will have a salad here built from the lettuce in our garden tower. We are prepping for September. Ea's and secreatries are working until 26th. 

Email- we will be doing the switch to Outlook on Monday with Dexter. Might as well do it while we have support, they will be transitioning 400m people in Septemebr there will be little time to support them then.  Please bring your phone if you are wanting to get Outlook email on it. 

Staff schedules and times- We are going to look at teacher times and support staff work times- We need coverage and will make sure the times listed have our school's covered. 

 Tuesday- Vetra training for Chad and I- wrap up day for staff. 

 Wednesday- to be announced on Monday

 Thursday- to be announced on Monday

 Friday- wrap it up day. Yeah! 

August diplomas will be written. We will get notice out that this will be happening.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Action

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
