This is a quick Tuesday memo.




Items of note:

Try to have each student complete at least one course for this report. This will be a focus of our CRM.  

Report cards are due Nov. 10th at noon. I will have rememebrance day to look them over and we can reprint on Nov 12th. I want them earlier so you are not using your Rememebrance Day or your PD day to do them those are your days to relax, take care and go at your pace. 

Report cards go home on November 19th.

CRM's this week-High level 8:30 Tuesday morning.

La Crete 2:00 pm on Thursday. Let the kids know that they won't get any help on Thursday after 2:00. 

Wellness sessions for Students begin this month. In High Level Sue Harvey will present on Mental Health Nov 10th, We are starting at 12:30. Let's see what an afternoon start gets us. ( Gotta try)

Thanks to Annelise and Leah who both put ion sessions this month. What fun talking about money is. Lets hope our kids make good financial decisions going forward. You ladies make the courses interesting and informative. You rock. Thanks to Holly who assisted Leah with some great ancedots about side hussles and and other cool stories. Its always better when we do things as a team. 

Budget- Our budget is set. it is a skinny one with our FNMI money being held in central. We always manage. We get clever. Central is concerned with any money being spent on food. I will now be building our food projections for the year and submitting it. In High level the student survey had 6 kids out of 15 check off eating disorders. That number is high. 

Results review- This week I will be completing our results review and handing it into central. Covid did hamper some of our efforts last year. I will record what data we were able to garner. ( English teachers am I using garner correctly here?)

Diplomas- very few are writing  this quad. Lets get the kids names in for the next writing though. That should be a huge list. Diplomas are worth 10% this year. next year everything will return to normal as per the Education Minister. 

Staffing- So far everyone is in this week.

It's going to be fabulous! How thankful are we that you are back before report cards. We learned how to do many things but report cards.... YIKES that is beyond our scope. many, many, many, thanks to Leah and Tracy who played secretary for a bit there. They are thrilled you are back too!

    You are using 'garner' correctly. As per Merriam Webster, it is defined as: "to acquire by effort". Synonyms included 'accumulate' and 'collect'.

    Now everyone needs to use it in a sentence! Go.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Action

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
