Fidgety, funky Febrauary

Febraury is going to be a fidgety, funky month. Fidgety means restless, edgy, uneasy. Funky means unconventional, hip, supercool.

Why would I say that:

  • Staffing- people are sick and that requires them to stay home, leaving us managing. Which we knew, but Febraury is where it is going to hit and already has in High Level.
  • Families- some families are having a hrad time right now and we can see it reflected in their kids. Some are leaving the kids in their rooms all day to do whatever..... as long as they are quiet.
  • Weather- should it rain should it snow, should I wear my parka or my sweater. What weather warning can we have next? It's wonky and funky.
  • We have teacher's convention, zoom in from anywhere you wish. Then family day off, but do you plan to go anywhere because of the weather????
  • Let's add Valentines Day or Galentine's day or Guyentine's day because you don't have to be in a relationship to enjoy Valentine's Day anymore. Treat yourself to something sweet on this day.
  • I'm leaving out the news should we be emersing ourselves  in that anyway??? Geesh , yopu could become so depressed, can't lose track of all that is fabulous in the world.
  • Sunlight- we are getting 4 more minutes of sunlight each day. Is that not Funky?????
  • There's alot going down, a lot of Funky, fidgety stuff in Febraury. Fasten your seatbelts people, Febraury is racing through!

Staffing

Amanda is out for a bit.

Holly is out for a bit.

Bonnie is out today.

Crystal is out and Allan is in for her. They changed dates.

Sean Price is out Tuesday am, Wed pm and Friday.

Allan is out to La Crete on Wednesday and Thursday for First Aide- I will see if I can leave High Level it depends on staffing. Hoping to come in Thursday.

What is Happening

  • First aide crew going to La Crete with Allan driving on Wed and Thurs!!! Wow!! Fun, Fun, FUN.
  • Parent teacher telephone interviews Febraury, 14- 16. We must make contact with the family of students under 18. Going over their grad plan with them in a great idea. Even in grade 10 we have a grad plan/direction for our kids.
  • Report cards went home on Friday.
  • Soon we will be thinking of seatings for the next diplomas in April.
  • La Crete is Starting The community Helpers program mid month. High level is scheduled for April I believe.
  • masks- we have received another shipment of masks for staff and students. Please let me know if you'd like masks I can deliver them to you. Students and staff also have access to test kits, just say the word and I will deliver those as well.
  • New registrations- This morning we have received calls about two students thinking of coming over. We will see some movement over the next few weeks, then it will settle down. This always happens around semester change.

Thanks to you !!!!

  • Huge thanks to Holly for her work on grad letters. What a job that was!  The package she sent out to students was great. They know all the grad info now.
  • Thanks to Allan for driving that bus for us this Wednesday and Thursday. The kids on the bus go, hey bus driver speed up a little bit!! , Mr. Spelrem on the bus goes, "shaaaaddddd uppppppppppp or I'll drop you off in the Peace River."  ha ha ha
  • Thanks to Eva for going through the textbooks and sorting out what stays or goes. That's a huge job.
  • Thanks to Chad, Dean and Allan for keeping the sidewalk cleared. Seems like a never ending job.
  • Thanks to Annelise for telling me about using a nebulizer for croup. It helped so much!!!!
  • Thank you all for reaching out to our kids. we need to be reminded that kids seek out  love and connection in the weirdest ways. Be ready for it. One student who wouldn't carry on a conversation with me, talked Bonnie's ear off. She is his comfort person.
