This is our 4th winter

 Merry Christmas everyone,

This snow is helping, had that precipitation come down in rain form, many communities would have been in more trouble than they are now. As it stands, 1000's of residence of Chateh are evacuated to High Level. Other communities are threatened, let's just say a prayer that the weather cooperates, Spring must come. Forget spring, summer must come, spring had it's chance.

Thanks to all of you who attended the meeting Thursday PM. Your minds were put at ease and you have an idea of what the merger looks like. Looks like there will be  more staffing which will assist incredibly. The merger is happening next year, we still have this year to complete with grace and integrity. We will wrap it up as well as we started it. Closure is important.

We are busy this week with making sure our grads are on track. Our grade nines know about PATS next week. Several students are finishing up their core courses, with this weather they will be more inclined to work. ( Frankly, we are more inclined to sit in front of the fireplace with a blanket humming Christmas carols.)

This week is parent connection week. We are not doing in person parent teacher interviews but are calling and connecting with each parent by phone this week. Talk amongst yourselves to see who is calling whom. Each parent must be contacted.

CRM in High Level tomorrow, Tuesday at 9:00. Will help us to prepare for parent conversations. La Crete staff had a really good meeting on Tuesday of last week, action follow throughs have already happened in many cases.

Staffing

Everyone is in this week.

I am in La Crete on Wednesday.

I am out Thursday and Friday as I am attending Janet's memorial in Red Deer.

Thanks so much

Huge thanks to Sean who covered for us in High Level. Of course, this is the day that many kids came in for new materials.

Thanks to Eva for arranging a sub to cover at the La Crete Learning Store. That's not easy.

Thanks to Holly, Eva and Alex for their work with the grads. The numbers are lower this year, a total of about 24 grads. Some very rewarding stories here.

Thanks staff for the extras you do. Making schedules for kids, doing their resumes, getting them work experience credits, offering career counseling, making referrals for them, encouraging them not to quit!!! You make a difference every day to these students and their families.
