Artist ISH!!!

Let your brain go there! House ish, vase ish, art ish!!!

This week we are going to peek or brains and the brains of our kids. It surely is evident that Natalia ( and i) believe there to be an artist hidden in all of us. Most of us suppress any feelings of creativity and artistry. I've heard staff say: I can't draw, I haven't got an artistic bone in my body, I'm horrible at that. Research says it is not true. Your brain can appreciate and embrace art if you let it. Open those doors that you nailed shut and allow yourself to be free. Gone is the perfectionist, gone is judgement, gone is the scaredy cat who wont even try. You get to be free, free to be you, free to celebrate that ISH side of you this week! Take advantage of it its a new experience its a blessing you've been given this week!

Art builds dendrites - worksheets don't.

Staffing

Many dancers are out this week. If they will miss the Art Experience try to fit them in with another class. This is a real opportunity and we know our dancers will be able to catch up with classes. They should not miss this.

Evelyn is in for Natalia all week and is Susan on Friday.

Amber is out Wednesday to Friday- Sara was supposed to be in for her so we will play tetris. Perry will be her on Wednesday and Thursday- not sure about Friday yet. But we will.

Tuesday pm Kim is  in Fort for a health team meeting.

Wednesday pm- Kim and I have aspiring leaders

Shane is out Wednesday - no sub

Shelly is out Friday- Shane's mom is in for her.

Hmm that's a bit of confusion for a week... but after that week...., you know what happens..... you are all free!!!

Note if you want persoanl days etc... Get them in now. We are going to consider saying "NO" if you are asking for track and field day off. We need LIVE bodies. That is May 22nd.

Events

Grade six health presentation I believe is tomorrow. These classes do matter. Just this week heard from a parent who credits our teaching of relationships/ character and health classes for her daughter having ending an abusive relationship!! That was a really impacting thing to hear!! The daughter told her it was what she learned at spirit that had her end her ties to this guy. That was seven years later!!

Art lives this week in the music room. Relax enjoy!

Report cards go home Friday. And many of you go to Vegas, Florida, LA and Edmonton.

Thanks yous to you and you and you and you and you!

Thanks to Kim Price and her group for the idea of an artist in residency. And huge hugs to Natalia for freeing our brains and allowing art to live at Spirit and in our spirits.

Thanks to Cheri, Susan, Shane, Jena, Jack, Valyne, Jackson, Teya, Keller and Evelyn for their assistance with the movie. It was very well attended we made about $800.00. Kids really did run it themselves with us just watching!! That is a real step up for us!!

Thanks to all our support staff for supervising the reward movie while teachers worked on report cards that sure helped. It was a great movie.

Thanks to Ainsworth for donating their bottles to us for the spinner. That is  a lot of money about $700.00. We are ordering the spinner this week. Yeah!!

Thanks to all of you for remaining calm in the midst of supreme muckiness. Kids are taking their boots off.  Wet butts are looking after themselves.

Thank you for being calm and cool this week as your energy level will differ from the kids. Use the gratitude journal as  away of grounding your self and realizing this week will go by without a hitch, as we will embrace the five days we have with our kids. Not may of them are off to Vegas, Florida or Los Angeles. This week one of our students went into the Safe Home, 4 were interviewed by CFSA, 2 by North Peace, we visited many homes. Things are happening to our kids... and thank goodness you don't judge you embrace them, listen and understand.
