Election Day Today

Please take the time to vote today. Educate yourself , make a decision and vote. So cool that we have that right and that freedom to elect our own government. This is a right many people do not have. 
Do you know your human rights? Here are just a few. 

You have the right to life and to live in freedom and safety.
Everyone has the right to be protected by law.
We can all ask the law to help us if we are not treated fairly.
Nobody should harm our good name. Nobody has the right to come into our home, open our letters, or bother us or our family without good reason. 
We have the right to meet our friends and to work together in peace to defend our rights.Nobody can make us join a group if we don't want to.

Staffing

Darren and Petra are of to Geek Conference. There will be subs in for them on Friday. 

Petra is out next Monday and Tuesday. Crystal and Cathy Robinson will be in for her. 


So COOL

Holly told me that people are starting to come in and get coats and hats and mitts. We suited up several families last week. We are still accepting jackets hats and mitts. Thanks to Holly Bonnie and the students for working on this worthwhile project. Is there a project we can start that would benefit your community?? 


My schedule- " It changes like the seasons." 

So I have been here for seven weeks and am realizing  that my schedule might have to be a bit flexible. I have put 11,000 kms on that vehicle.  
Today I am spending the day in High Level. Tuesday, I need to head to La Crete. Wednesday I am in High Level. Thursday I am in Fort and La Crete. Friday I am in Zama for a meeting with Roger and we are holding a parent forum. 


'What's Going On"

Diplomas have arrived in central I will be picking them up tomorrow. Please be aware of who is writing. 

WE DAY- we have about four students who have shown interest in attending this event. I have more tickets if there is a students in your school suited to this trip please let me know today. 

High Level is having a Pumpkin carving contest. 

Zama Parent Forum Friday.

Thanks to Jenine who got rid of the large bookshelf. We now have room for some comfy chairs. Yeah!!

Thanks to Holly, Eric and Bonnie for organizing the Pumpkin carving contest. Such fun!! 

Thanks to Julie for organizing the first of many special project days. One one student came this time but there will be more opportunities in the months to come. 

Thanks to Darren and Alex for their time in Fort. They have built a relationship with three students who attend regularly. One of those students wants to be a doctor!! 




Have an excellent week. Finally we have a full week to get things done!! Yeah!!!

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
