Report Card Week

Go Jays!!!

Jays go to game five! This team is determined to get to the World Series. They have this cool thing they do to communicate with each other. They use a signals  thumb and forefinger together and three fingers up. Focus on the prize! 

For us, the prize is seeing our kids be successful. We can use the spray and pray theory ( talk and pray that the kids get it) or we can actually go into work each day with a purpose, today I am going to make contact with three kids and see where they are with their studies. I'm going to see if they need a hand. Many students won't ask for help, they just aren't that brave yet. Someone needs to teach them to be brave. We model bravery each day for these students.

Thanks to Julie for setting up the scrapbooking session this week in Fort. I will be there to assist her on the morning. 

Thanks to Bonnie for setting up the Cosmic Painting session. That was cool! 

Thanks to Eva for setting up the Flower arranging session in La Crete. I saw the arrangements and they were impressive. 

Thanks to Holly for arranging the Winter Wear. Coats and warm weather wear is coming in daily. Holly keep up with all that.

Thanks to La Crete for hosting us last Friday at your school. Its always great getting together with you! 

Thanks to Jenine. She picked up a Keurig for her school and now kids can enjoy coffee and tea if they wish. 

Thanks to Marc in Zama. He has built a sense of community in his little school. Kids love coming to school and parents realize their kids are in great hands with Marc! 

Events/ Instruction and programming

Education Plans will be handed in today sometime. They are always up for review and revision. We want these plans to matter so I am writing them that way. 

Roger Clarke comes to the High Level Learning Store at 2:00 on Thursday the 15th. I will be speaking to him about the Learning Stores and the needs in Zama City School. 

Parent teacher interviews will take place at different times in each school. High level school will go out and talk to the parents over two nights. We will decide exactly which nights those are. Zama interviews will take place  next month. La Crete will follow the La Crete Public School schedule. Reminder to record all parent contacts in power school. 

COPs had people delving deeply into areas. Eric and Alex worked on google hangouts which we will be utilizing more often.

High Level has Google Drive training on Monday. 

Next Friday Roger will observe a parent Focus group in Zama. We will make calls to parents and invite them to come. That will be lovely. 

High Level has a custodial meeting next Wednesday. 

Credit cards are coming- heard from Jelena yesterday. They are on the way. 

Dan Dyck will be coming in to High Level today to talk about millwork in the New Learning Store. 

Careers Trip deadline is close please let us know which kids are planning on going on this trip. 

Media production and Digital Storytelling Oct 19- 23. Please ask students if they are interested its a once in a lifetime opportunity. I heard a story on CBC about it on the drive home yesterday! Too cool. 

If you haven't heard next Monday is election day. 

Staffing

Bonnie will be away on October 15th and 16th. 

Petra will be out on October 15th and 16th. 

I am in Rainbow this pm. LTM on Wednesday in Fort. Thursday in Fort am. Meeting with Roger pm. Friday in High Level as Bonnie and Petra are out. Next Monday, I will be in La Crete all day.
