Have you taken a moment to notice our morning skies. Our skies are extraordinary, unlike any other. Northern skies are bimulous, are ripe with color and allow us to say," I'm glad I live up north to be able to experience it's beauty and uniqueness."
When attending this Outreach Conference it became apparent to me that our schools are unique, up north. Each learning Store has its own flair, its own uniqueness and is a reflection of the community and the staff. We want to embrace our uniqueness from all other schools in the province and  celebrate what we do well, build relationship with students. This weekend we made friends with colleagues from other schools and now have ideas to better our course offerings. We are smarter now. No one ever has become dumber learning something new. We learned to celebrate our uniqueness. 
Thanks to all who attended. It was fun hanging with you, a great way to start the year. We did miss Eva, Holly and Jenine. It's not the same without you ladies. Next perhaps we will all be together.



Celebrations

Mark was inducted into the ATA last Friday night. They honored him and recognized him that evening. Wish we all could have been there to celebrate with you Mark. Congratulations on behalf of us all. 

Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy your three day weekend with family. You deserve stress free time with your family.

Events/instruction and Programming

• Eva Olson is presenting in High Level and the La Crete community. There are evening shows and afternoon ones. I can not express enough how impacting her story is. We aren't closing the learning stores but we do want you to invite kids to go over with you to listen. You figure out which staff stays behind and who goes. 
• Reports due- I have a zillion reports due to central this week. One of which is the Communities of Practice summary. Please tell me what Community of practice you are joining and I will submit that to central office. Our High Lights and priorities report is due if you have highlights you'd like me to feature in that report to the board please chat with me. Budget report is due, we are adding a kitchen to La Crete we will need to redirect some monies there. Education plan is due. 
• PGP meeting- Hopes are to have all of these done by the end of October. Thanks for the PGP's you sent in to me. 
• Staff meeting- We had our staff meeting at the conference. You are free to catch up with things in  your school. Doors are closed so you can do this uninterrupted. I will be having a staff meeting with Mark in Zama that day. We may actually come into High Level for that meeting. 
• PD day October 9th. In the morning we will be planning together- reviewing our education plan, going over what we learned at conference and applying it to our schools. We will meet in La Crete on that day. We will start our meeting at 9:30 in La Crete. The afternoon will be designed for COP meetings. I have a funeral to attend in the afternoon in High Level so I will leave at about 12:30 but not before we go for lunch together.
• My schedule this week. I will be in High Level Monday Morning, La Crete Monday pm. Rainbow Tuesday. Wednesday in High Level for the Cosmic painting. Thursday in Zama as they are having a community Thanksgiving feast. Friday we will all be in La Crete.
• Wednesday is cosmic spray painting day in High Level. The flower arranging is in La Crete this week. Can someone let me know which date please?

Thank yous

• Huge thanks go out to Boonie who organized the registrations, hotel rooms, transportation and many meals for us to attend the conference. We know that is time consuming and can be frustrating when dealing with hotels. We appreciate all that you did. It was a great weekend!!
• Thank you to all staff who gave up their own time to attend the conference. We appreciate it.
• Thank you to Mark who bought a 24 pound turkey for the Zama dinner on Thursday. Thank you to Mark and Nicole who are organizing that meal.
