Do you like to make a lot of jokes? Are you often silly? Are you usually happy? If so, then you are a jocular person.
I'm expanding my vocabulary through a game called Words with friends. It's true that we seldom expand our vocabularies unless pressed to do so. Learning a new word or two each day keeps the mind fresh. 
Staffing
Paul is out today.
I am in Zama all day  tomorrow, as there is a Parent Council meeting in the evening. 
I am in Rainbow on Wednesday. We have a student there who will be taking the Rig Simulator Course. We will get him all set up on Wednesday. 
Thursday- In La Crete and Fort- Taking Bonnie and Eva out for lunch as it is Administrative assistant week. Be sure to let the ladies know how much you appreciate all they do for you/us. We will have a few lovely surprises this week.
Friday- in High Level- Meetings with HLPS about duals and Post Secondary Expo next May 2017. 
Everyone else seems to be in this week. This is the last week of April and it is pay week. 
Please note, I am back to wearing winter clothes the "Spring thing" was just toooo cold!! It the only way I can think of, to spur on Spring. 
Programming/Events
Parent teacher interviews are happening in La Crete on Tuesday. Families are being offered fruit baskets when they come to an interview. 
High Level will decide on our next date for P/T interviews. Report cards go out in High Level/Rainbow and Zama on Tuesday. 
Bob is backing up our marks on Monday in La Crete and Tuesday in High Level. 
Hats On for Mental Health- May 4th
High Level has a walk on that day. Those who can, will walk the block to support those with Mental Illness.  All schools are participating. 
Zama Parent Council Tuesday Evening 6:30.
High Level Grad Meeting- Wednesday 7:00
Rig Simulator course is available for Learning Store Students through ADLC.  Please contact me and we will get registrations etc filled out. The course has a simulator as well as on line course work. 
Report cards- Next year we will take steps to standardize our report card. Taking the best of what we do in each location to make a meaningful report card for students and parents. 
May 17th- PD day for La Crete and also High Level Teachers. We will get subs in High Level. The day will be spent looking over courses, revamping things, getting rid of the old courses, updating files etc...

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

Action

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
