Keep Your Face to The Sunshine But Wear Sunscreen!!!
This the season where the sun stays up until 10:00 and students are up well passed that. Sleep is such an integral part of a person's well being. Our body requires sleep to regulate itself. Interrupted sleep or lack of ,can cause havoc to the human mind and body. I've been in education a long time and have a rule when I see a kid sleeping I let them sleep. They need the sleep.
Another good check for our students is to offer them food. For many of our students proper nutrition is an issue. We need to make sure we have healthy food and healthy snacks available for our students and for staff when they need a nutrition boost. You each have a visa card and should be able to supply fruit for your schools. Except Zama where I usually bring snacks and fruit out.
Thank You
Thanks to Alex who was acting admin when i was away two days last week. The days were event free and Alex saw how easy it is to be admin!
Thanks so much to Jenine, Darren and Alex who managed some diplomas last week. Many students wrote, now we wait three weeks for the results.
Thanks so much to Allan Herring and a fellow from High level Public who put a desk together for us at the High Level Learning Store it took 10 man hours to put together and Holly is enjoying it.
Here's a different thanks. Thanks to me we are replanting our tower garden. I had it all going great until I left on Thursday and didn't fill the water reservoir and our plants got scorched. Good news is the fish is still alive!!
Staffing
Eric is out for two days. Paul is doing a great job of covering for him.
Bonnie is out today. ( Tuesday)
Today I am in High Level- This is report card week. Reports cards are to go out on Friday. We may have a delay in High Level by a day or two, as Bob can not get to us any earlier. That week off mess us up a little.
Wednesday I am taking two Zama students on a field trip to Hillcrest school for an author visit.
Thursday I am in High Level as Darren is coming to do Google training and it is staff meeting day. Friday I am in La Crete.
Events and Programming
May 4th is hats on for mental health day. We can all done hats that day to help support the cause of awareness for Mental Health issues.
Staff meeting 2:00 on Thursday. Darren and Julie will be in High Level for that meeting. We will call Jenine, Eva and Alex. Mark Pelley will prep in Zama on Friday.
Encourage and remind students who are set to graduate about the time limits. Doing Bio 30 plus Eng 30 plus Soc 30 by the end of June is a stretch. Our grads must be aware of the timelines if they expect to graduate. We have only 8 weeks left till year end. I know!!
Opportunity for students to take a Rig Simulation Course through ADLC. It is very interesting I had a chance to look at it the other day. It is an online course with a simulation for the rig that is just like playing a video game. Students would love this interactive course. 3 credits. If you have any students interested please lead them my way.
Job Fair in High level- April 28 th 1-4 at Alberta Works building.
Have a great week. Keep your face to the sunshine but wear sunscreen!
