Staffing for this week

Thursday- La Crete am- hopefully dual meeting with LCPS
                Fort- pm hopefully meeting for duals Fort Public
Friday- High Level

 May 5th Darren and Eva are out. 

 Darren is out May 20th and I am taking my day in lieu on that day.  

 *** Support staff please note if you have banked time stored up please consider taking it sooner than later. It must be used by the year end June 23rd. We do not have the moo laa to pay you out. 

Events Happenings

 Hats on for Mental Health day is May 4th. We can all wear hats to show our support for mental wellness. 

 In High Level, Thursday morning at 10:00 there is a Walk for Mental Health Awareness. Any staff and students who wish can join the walk, it would would certainly be appreciated. Any Learning Store is welcome to do this walk in their community. We would just leave one person back to mind the school. All schools are involved in this walk and  will be walking around the block of schools. Zama kids will walk on Tuesday after some mental health lessons. 

 Learning Stores are considering graduate requirements of grade 12 students. Letters are going out informing families of the student's status. 

 Zama Staff are planning a week long field trip in the first week of June to Grande Prairie. 

 High level staff are having parent teacher interviews on Tuesday. We will be going out and visiting homes. 

 Thanks to Alex who held parent teacher interviews last Tuesday.

 We had an incident in High Level Thursday afternoon involving a soft lock down of all schools and involving Police. The Learning Store was contacted later than protocol would state. We will review protocol with all schools in each community ensuring Learning Stores are included in the phone call out chain.

 May 16th is a day off for La Crete
May 17th all teachers of Learning Stores will be in La Crete working on course revamps. 
May 19th will be a staff meeting at 2:00 with google hangouts. Working on the ed plan. 
Zama will get out at 1:00 and Marc will drive to High Level to go over Zama Ed Plan. 
May 20th is a PD for High Level, Fort, Rainbow. Mark will work out of High Level that day. 

 Monday May 9th is Google training for High Level staff. 
Thursday 12th is google training for La Crete staff and Julie. It starts at 10:00. Julie please put up a poster stating the store will be closed Thursday morning.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
