 Celebrations

 Eric is having a special birthday today! We have hidden golf balls in our school so people will be bringing them to him all day ( maybe all year) to say Happy Birthday.

 One of our High Level students gave birth on diploma day. She had a gorgeous healthy baby boy named Harlan, 8lbs 4 ozs. 

 Zama students handed out Halloween treats to members of the community. They visited homes of people in need.  It was great service learning for them. 

 Staffing

 Meeting with central office at 12:30 today. 

 Tuesday is LTM in Fort

 Wednesday staff meeting day I am in Fort and La Crete. Everyone is doing there own thing on staff meeting day as we will meet on Nov 9th during the collaborative sessions. It is a great chance for us all to be together. That is rare. Hope you signed up for them if not, there is still time to do that. 

 Bonnie is out today.

 Instruction and Programming
Each school is required to do a moment of silence at 11:00 on Wednesday Nov 9th. I will include this clip if you want to play it before the moment of silence. 

 PGP chats- I will track you down this week if we haven't had this chat yet. 
Ipp's are due right away. Please let me know if you are having difficulties. Central office will look in to see that we are up to date with them. 

 Report cards are due in to me to read all the comments and look them over on Tuesday, Nov 14th. We may never see some of those parents so this is where we can comment and celebrate a student's accomplishments or let them know we could assist if we saw them more often. Cut off for marks is this Wednesday. 

 Forestry expos are coming up 21 in La Crete and 23 in High Level. 

 Central office staff visit High Level's school on 23rd all morning. All Superintendents  are there to go over things with me and will chat with staff and students as well. They visit all schools each year.

 PT teacher interviews for High level are on Wed Nov 22 5-8. 

 Pt interviews for La Crete are on Nov 21st 5-8

 Blue Hills will be another date as will Fort and Rainbow. Rainbows interviews will be on a Friday that the teacher comes out. Forts will be that interview week but during the day and on an afternoon when I am there.
Zama's Pt interviews will take place when the kid's Mom returns sometime next week. 

 Standard First Aide in High Level on 28, 29. Not sure when we are offering it in La Crete.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
