Heat is out again in High Level so I am typing with gloves on. Sorry for errors. 

 I am out to Zama this morning to attend the School Closure Consultation.

 Hopes are that you had a great break, one where you find yourself ready for the next 4 and a half months of school. Younger grades are celebrating the 100th day of school. That means we have only 80 days to get kids graduated and moving forward with their education. We know this time goes by quickly yet we can prepare for what is ahead. preparing our students for diplomas, graduation...life.

 Congratulations to

 A student in High Level received a $3000 bursary and was accepted to a college in Olds.He still has many courses to complete but he is driven and will get them all done. Thanks to Petra and Bonnie who assisted him with choosing courses and getting the documentation he needed.

 Accountability Surveys

 We must have our students and parents fill out the Accountability Survey. This is our last week to collect data. We appreciate all that you have done to get kids to fill this out. I know they are enjoying the extra success bucks!!

 Diploma marks are out. Check on your student results.

 Zama closure consultation is simply a meeting to gather information from the community on the school. Trustees and Mike McMann will be in Zama today. 

 La Crete has an international cook course taking place today. Alex spent lots of time shopping for these tasty ingredients. Kids from Fort are going to take it as well. 

 Budget- 47% spent. We are a little overspent but it always works out. We will wait until year end to make any bigger purchases. 

 Reminder- teachers have a one week window to return marked assignments to students. Many students are looking at their own marks through the student portal. Marks are a way of motivating some students. 

 Reminder- all staff members are to lead/organize at least one course per school year. Have you run a course??? If not please let me know what your plans are to run a course we will plan the best date and time. 

 Blue Hills Move- Today I will find out more about the dates for the Blue Hills Move into the motel.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
