Wishing this cold away. Our students can't get to school when it is this cold. 
When I was little we had snow days or ice days. We skated to school on an ice day. It was the best! Still remember gliding down hills then using trees to stop us. Hoping our students have fun stories to tell, as each of us does. Today is the day to tell those kind of stories! 

 This is a great week to catch up and give one on one assistance to those who show.

 Staffing

 We are figuring staffing out in High Level. It has not been easy. But we cover for people when they need us, that's just who we are. 

 Allan Spelrem is in today switching to today and he will be off on Thursday and Friday.

 Bonnie is out today. Leah will cover the front for us for the day. 

 I am at an LTM in La Crete until 8:00 tonight! Ugh! 
I'm sorry... I meant, "Yeah, so looking forward to the day!" Almost convinced myself! 

 Our sub, Crystal, can only work till 11:30 each day. She has been fabulous for us. We will take what we can get with no subs available in High Level.   

 Chad is out Friday.

 So that means my schedule is day to day this week. Taking into consideration staffing needs and the freaking weather. 

 Monday- La Crete for LTM
Tuesday- High Level- meeting with Scott re: our goals. Wednesday- possible ...La Crete area.  
Thurs- High Level as Allan is off 
Friday- High Level as Chad is off.

What's Up

 Accountability survey this week. We will do our best for this week and the one after break. Kids will fill out the surveys and get three success bucks for doing it. They need to remember they can get almost any course they want with us. Survey is shorter this year. Codes will be scanned to you tomorrow. 

 Diploma results will come out when we are on break. 

 Teachers should be looking over April diploma sittings and making sure their students who could possibly write are on that list. You should also be talking to your students and making them aware of the pace they need to keep to be able to take that diploma. 

 Student contacts- We each have students to contact. Please be sure to update the page with specifics. ie: wed 1 hr. thurs all day. Sure helps when looking up a student's progress. 

 Parent teacher interviews are after the break.  Wed in La Crete, Thursday 21st in High Level.

 Soap making is taking place tomorrow in High Level. 

 Chad has had so many things going on with the Home Education students. They are helping out at Gleaners, doing painting classes and pottery classes. Chad has developed a cool addition to the home page that has parents signing up for classes online. It is working very well. Learning Stores may adopt this idea as well. 

 Home Education reno takes place this month. We are negotiating for a little kitchen. 

 Yes! Just received word that Mike changed his mind about having us drive to the LTM in La Crete today and it is postponed to March 6th. Hallelujah!!! I am in High Level today for catch up day!! SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to it.

 Round two of evaluations will be coming out soon.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
