Kids These Days
Mike has purchased Jody Carrington's book, Kids These Days, for every FVSD employee. What a great way to get us all on board. The books will be handed out to you this week. Jody wants us to look after ourselves, so we can look after others. We do holy work, she wants us to refocus on supporting each other in our work. I can't wait to read this book!!
Just love learning something everyday.
Thank you so much
Thanks to the teachers and Eva and Bonnie who joined us in parent teacher interviews. We had ten parents out in High Level and three or four in La Crete. Our parents are catching on!
Thank you to Jennifer who is managing the girls taking their Health Care aide Program in Fort. Those girls are always asking questions and they can consume a lot of time but Jennifer looks after them with grace.
Thanks to Jenine. I went out to Rainbow on Friday. She has been so patient with us not being out there with Chris being away. It can get lonely! However that group of kids is just plain old sunshine! They have such unique stories and are moving forward everyday thanks to Jenine. We are back to our Rainbow schedule with a teacher/admin going out each Thursday.
Thanks to you all for being game changers in the lives of these kids. Are you the one who has that kids heart??. If so you have the responsibility to see them through. I say that because I have a heart of the few kids who look to have given up, I still have to follow those kids and keep directing them. They will be so sick of me! Holly and Eva must feel the same chasing our grads! Their work is exhausting but soon they will reap the reward of Grad!
Thanks to Chad for taking on marking in both schools. His presence in our schools is appreciated.

What's happening this week?
Chad has pottery workshops and a Sawmill Tour going on This week.
Diploma Marks came in and the kids did great. That means their teacher's prepared them well. Staff got them what they needed. Thanks so much for that!
Diploma seatings have been created. Teachers, that is your duty to check where all your kids are and tell Eva and Bonnie to put the kids into the diploma sitting.
6 chromebooks will be ordered. We need them. Will start with six and see how our budget handles that this year. Then order 4 to 6 more in next year's budget.
Great resource for teachers to look into is www.myblueprint.ca. Assists students in planning for their high school years. Let me know what you think. Thanks to Bonnie for finding it on other schools websites. Seems a few high schools are using this career planning tool. May fit into our Learning Strategies modules.
Grad letters are being sent out soon. Our grads should be well over half way.
Evaluations continue. I will be making visits to La Crete twice this week.
Enjoy your week. You deserve a productive one.
