Monday- High Level with Dean and Crystal- today i work on principal things. 

Tuesday- HLLS CRM meeting 9:00- Anne and Crystal in High Level

Wednesday High Level- I am teaching today, Crystal is at High Level Public

Thursday- Crystal is in. I am in Fort am and La Crete PM for CRM.  

Friday- Zombie bootcamp High Level

 Big News

 Alex has been asked by the division to cover a Grade 10 dash one course. He will teach at La Crete Public the last period of the day, from 2:00 - 3:30.  We know Alex will help these kids get a great grasp of Social. Huge thanks to Alex for seeing a need and helping La Crete Public out. He will teach until the end of first semester.

  • Huge Thanks to Dean who has caught on so quickly and rallied 16 full time students, soon they will be hanging out the door. Also, huge thanks to Alex who has trained Dean well.
  • Huge Thanks to Leah who has worked on resumes for at least four of our students. They are ready to go out and get a job. 
  • Huge thanks to Crystal McAteer who has marked and marked and marked for us. OUr kids are building language skills she is teaching them how to write great essays. 
  • Thanks to Jenine who has been marking some things for us while we get caught up in High Level. It sure helped us, we appreciate your time.

 What's Coming Up?

 These things are happening within the next month.
  • Results review when Chad and i present to the board the results from last year.
  • Report cards- November
  • You will get paid soon!!!
  • Finance course in High Level
  • Allan will be back sometime in November.
  • Our budget will be finalized and we will see how much money we have. 
  • Students have started core courses and should be half way through or more. 
  • High Level is seeing new registrations- that is also true for Fort. rainbow has six full time students if we include Faith. La crete has had new registrations as well. 
  • You will need to check the CRM notes for any actionable items you were assigned. 
  • We sent out inactive letters for several students in High Level. 
  • High Level is continuing to pilot our skill building list. Last week Boston Pizza came and hired two of our students. Tolko will come this week. These kids need to build skills. 
  • High Level had an Opiods workshop as part of the skill building and wellness focus. We are wanting to bring wellness pieces to each school. 
  • CALP- do we have students who are functioning between grade 4-9 and are 18. If so the can qualify for funding to go to Northern Lakes college. We have one in High Level and one in Fort whose names we will pass on to Kevin Crosby. 
  • Student contacts- please be sure to make your student contacts weekly. Kids need to be invited to the school, you making contact does that. 
  • Diploma supervision document has been created. Please look it over. By now we know who is writing digitally. Diplomas should arrive this week.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
