 GOOD BUSY!!! 

 Report cards have gone out,  parent teacher interviews take place this week. We are coming to the end of November, students are expected to be completing a core course soon. Courses are taking place in each location. Rainbow had Leah and I  doing a finance course. We will go back to catch the other 4 students. We will book the Opiod presentation  for the Rainbow kids too.Fort will soon get a wellness session delivered by Jennifer Sewapagaham. Plus, they will have the finance course taught by Leah and I.   La Crete had Linda doing a sewing course. La Crete has a wellness session scheduled for Dec 3rd at 11:00. High Level hosts ADLC and counselors tomorrow at 10:00. Our students will cook for these people earning credits in cold food preparation.  PAT's are being scheduled for January. Diplomas should be decided by now. Do you see what I mean, when I say good busy? Each of you  have created a school atmosphere where students are doing what they are supposed to, they tell you everything. Yesterday, I learned of a break-up that has a student seeking Mental Health assistance. Other students are speaking of family troubles, work worries and are afraid to grow up. 

 Kids are completing more courses than ever. They are self motivated. They are liking learning. they are building skills. 

 Credit counts are very high for October and November. 

 Work experience site visits are taking place. We are building relationship with community businesses. 

 GOOD BUSY  means we all have a great deal to do because our students are doing what they should be doing.

 Speaking of Busy!!!

 Bonnie had her fundraiser this weekend. The ladies raised $7500 for toys for Christmas Hampers. Leah, her Mom Wendy and Holly all volunteered to make the event a success. Soooo many people vying for kids! Cheers to you ladies! 

 Dean did site visits to businesses this past week. He is almost caught up and are hoping more students will be signed up for work experience in the future. Thanks Dean. 

 Chad is doing a public speaking session for Homeschoolers today. He has been busy putting this presentation together. It will be tons of fun for those kids.

 What's Up and Coming


  • Teachers be sure to talk to me about students needing accommodations for the January diplomas. We need to nail this down. 
  • Service Learning- is there something your school is doing for the holidays?? 
  • Student Portal- we are hoping to get as many kids on student portal as possible this week. Eva and Bonnie can make that happen in giving kids the form and passwords they need. This is a skill on our skill building list. It is true that students love feedback and can improve when they get feedback. 
  • parent teacher interviews- we will attempt to contact everyone by phone if we don't see them on parent teacher interview night.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
