March Came in Like Butterfly and Leaves like a Terdactyl

8 Benefits of Wildflower Lawns - Homestead.org Gardening

Good-bye March, hello April!

As it has been each week, for the passed two weeks, there are more changes and updates. I will share two documents with you. One is the Expectation on Assessment and Determination of final mark Covid Grade 9-12. It stays relatively the same with a few more details for high schools.

Document number two deals with handling of materials. The division would love it if no materials came back however, that doesn't work for us.
Plastics are not to be used. Paper envelopes are best or file folders or nothing. We must put a big sticky on the students work that says do not handle for four days. There are some very specific safety precautions for yourself.

The Determination of marks is not shareable yet, the materials return will be sent out right away.

Government of Alberta made an announcement on a Saturday ( seriously, Saturday!) regarding temporary funding adjustment to K-12 education funding. Details concerning this will come out later today. We consider all our EAs as essential, you haven't stopped working at all. I sent Mike that message concerning the value of our EA time in Learning Stores, without you we are done!

This week we grab or scragglers, I will be able to deliver in High Level and Chad will be able to deliver in La Crete. Many families are on isolation and can not leave their houses.
This is our chance to check on them to see if they are okay.

Food hampers in High Level, there are food hampers being distributed to families in High level. Do you know of a family who should be getting a hamper please let me know? We may be too late for this round but can get in on the next round. The families I am thinking of will receive a hamper because of younger brothers or sisters.

Mental health, I can not express enough that we have to be on top of this. We can not add to a students anxiety, we are to relieve  anxiety. Please be sure to leave a conversation with an uplifting message. Students need to know how important they are to us. The mental wellness sectors have received considerable funding to get us all through March!!! and on to Springy, lovely April.

I am back. Oh yeah, yippee, hooray!! Honestly!! For a girl who doesn't get sick very often, it is official, that flu kicked my butt! And no it was not COVID, we did test.

So everyone is staying put, for now. I have myself going out to La Crete on Wednesday maybe we can Google hangout or meet, we will see how things pans out in our area. Please fill in the timetable for your location as some of you are working from home. I know that is not easy!

So many, many, many, thanks!!!

Though things are changing everyday, and our world is the sickest it has been in our lifetime, you have powered through. You still laugh, you still joke, you know that this too will pass. We each will have a story to tell, a sad story, and a story of adversity conquered.
Virtual hugs to you all. Thanks so much for being that person!
