Babies First Steps

When Babies take a first step and fall on their bottoms, we praise and celebrate  the first step. We don't criticize their fall....we as educators must consider... with Outreach students, it is often their first step. One student has been away from school for three years, another has attended school for three years but was in survival mode for two( she's only getting on her feet now), another has been homeschooled his whole life, yet another has never had a good experience ever in a school. So baby steps it is.... and we celebrate each one.

Do we criticize babies, no we don't , do we criticize our students? No we don't.

HOT OFF THE PRESS ( wow almost an antiquated term now)

What's the problem?

4 staff in High Level; Anne, Leah, Allan and Amanda came into contact with two students who tested positive for covid 19. That means High Level is moving to a home learning model next week. Students can come pick up work and drop it off as Bonnie , Holly and Crystal (3 days) will be at the school.

Why make this move?

Because over half of our staff are in isolation. We are following the directives of AHS closely. They know what they are doing, and we are doing our part.

We are all working from home, we will be making our student contacts and will be working on school related things from 8:30 to 3:30 like normal. Useless we get sick then we are watching netflix, drinking nyquil and eating wine gums. Healthy fare!

How does this get resolved?

Allan and I  are back on Thursday, others are later. We are all following guidelines and being tested, gotta keep others safe. We are back to normal on the 16th. We took these steps to communicate: phone call to fulltime students, call out to families, there will be a note on our facebook page.

Let me know if you have any questions certainly you might.

ha ha ha loved this. Add on, the family identified is doing okay. We did aoffer assistance and hope she feels comfortable enough to ask.

Short list of What's Happening

  1. Report cards are due Monday. No surprises for students and families we have commuunicated enough so they know what to expect.
  2. Expect it in High Level, kids are calling they are isolating and yes we are going to give them multiple modules of materials.
  3. 5 days and you will have a well deserved break- teachers please sign up for your sessions for convention on line through mysched.
  4. CRM actions need to be acted upon this week, actions should be completed within a week.
  5. Febraury is here. Give that month a hug xoxoxoxoxo. We needed January to slip on by. We will gladly embrace a short month.
Enjoy the last day of January. Calm and cool is what we will rock this week. If we model calm and cool students and families will know we can handle most anything.
