Flags are flying at half mast in school division buildings today. Trustees would like to honor the discovery of 215 children at the site of the Kamloops Residential School, who never made it home. Flags will stay at half mast for 215 hours, an hour for each of the 215 children. 

The school division stands in support of our local communities who continue to heal from the impact of residential schools. 

Important this week

Connectivity survey- This must be done in each location by Wednesday this week. The division keeps track of who has done it and who hasn't. 3 students have taken the survey. I know we have more than three students. Please have students do it today, tomorrow and Wednesday. The resources we get will be based on this data. No data perhaps no resources???? Resources take the form of mental health supports, etc... Thanks for taking the lead and making sure this is done.

Grads- This is the week grads get it all done and make plans if they are walking. Our date to be done 80% is June 2nd. We have hearts, if there is a kid on the cusp we will work with them for a few extra days to get things done. We have always done this, this will be one or two kids. You were diligent in letting grads know what had to be done, that's why we each have about 20 grads this year. Love how students thank us for pushing them. Yes, that's exact what we did buddy!!!

Report Cards - Report cards are due on Tuesday June 15th. This time allows us time to read them and to get them ready for mail out on Friday. Let us know if that window is too narrow for the marking portion. If we have been making comments as we mark, comments are a non issue, comments are already done. 

Last Day of School June 18th.- Please be sure to have a conversation with students about next year. When possible pre register students. When preregistered we can get them started right away in September. 

Leadership Team Meeting June 9th- Chad and Anne

Our hole is being dug this week- High Level Learning Store foundation is supposed to be dug this week. I have a bet with Mike that it won't be done in time. I'm just thinking a bathroom reno takes two months, building a school hmmmm.....

20 minute talks- thanks to those who signed up already. I will choose a time for others who have not signed up.

Phones Out- We are free in Outreach. Please double check your phone ediquette and use at school. How often are you on your phone? I am writing this because I myself,  have to double check my phone etiquette and use. I have to be disciplined enough to put it away when i am speaking with someone or when at work. People first.  Just something I noticed last week about me and perhaps others too. 

Conversations- We are free in Outreach however, we have to think about the students when we are chatting with each other. I was chatting while a student was writing a mid term. No Anne, you need to be quiet. That's polite, that's respectful. So please just think about who is around when you are having your chats. Can you move closer to each other to converse? Should students be hearing this? I admit  I do this.

Dossier training- Many thanks to those who took in the Dossier IPP training. Next year you will be required to update student ipp's. Helps so much in CRM's, knowing how a student learns is key.  

June 21-24 PD we will be updating courses, hard scheduling next year, organizing, making on line courses. We realize several of you have personal days then no worries at all, we will get done what we get done. 

Staffing

Eva is out tomorrow. 

I am out Friday and Monday. It seems Steve and I have a trailer on a lot at a golf course in GP now. Steve is finalizing the sale today. I am going to see it Friday. Not a new house like Leah but a new little house for Steve and I and of course the old dogs. 

If you are planning on taking personal days please put that into atrieve. We want you to use your time. 

* Please take a breath and realize that everything you did this year for these kids is so appreciated. There have been struggles, we have gotten frustrated. Some of those frustrations were timely, circumstances led to them. When our world settles.... those frustrations will not exist. It is your right to be frustrated, angry or disheartened.
