Staffing

Dean is out today, and Thursday.
I am out for Steve's medical Wed, Thurs and Fri. My phone is on.
Dean is out Monday 20th.
Holly is out Thursday and Friday.
I think Bonnie is out  a day... hmmmmmm wis i had a memory.





Grads

Many many thanks to Chad who celebrated with our La Crete Grads. He is a great speaker who is a joy to listen to. His words of advice and encouragement would have been enjoyed by families. Thanks for doing this for so many years Chad.
This will be Chad's last year subbing in at Learning Stores, as Pathways will have a principal and an assistant principal to share duties. In saying that, we have to acknowledge the endless times Chad has rescued us and filled in for me. He has been beyond a rock star for us, perhaps DIVA status! lol. Hoping you can come in for the staff wind up June 24th Chad, so we can thank you in person. 

Huge thanks and hugs to Holly who organized our HL grads all year long. She put together grad letters. She called them, she text them. She fitted them for grad gowns. She calmed them when they were worried. She figured out a way to get them to grad. They smiled when they saw her at the school with all they needed. Thank goodness for her! Cheers for you Holly, we appreciate all you did.

What is Going on This Week

  • Report card marks in/ report cards due in Tuesday, June 21- at the lastest Wed.
  • Review progress of kids who needs to finish courses?
  • Diplomas/PATs- Pat Marking
  • Year end duties
  • Staff are getting their assignments, I don't know them all, very few actually. Kim is your go to for those questions. 
Thinking that is more than enough for a week.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
