Goings On
Roger and Kevin Pittman came to visit. They had some compliments for you all. Things seem to be going well at the Learning Stores our numbers are up. The dual meetings are going well. We are graduating lots of kids.
As always, they worry about numbers in Zama. But recognize the great job everyone is doing there. They may even visit by the end of the year.
District Programs present to the board in November. If you have any ideas of what this could look like, I'd be happy to hear those ideas.
Zama parent council meeting 4:00 on Tuesday October 11th.
Our new websites are up and running. They look great!!
Thursday is our Wing Ding Lunch in High level. A day where students can meet Gail and find out more about Student Wellness. Many kids said maybe on the survey, so this is their chance to come have wings and meet her. Cindy Doyle from the Native Friendship center is coming as well. She can tell the students what they do in the community.
Locally developed course meeting on Thursday afternoon for me. We are going to finalize the courses and then we will be able to get the courses ready for our kids to take.
Severely Coded students on reserve Ipp's must be completed by Friday. That included only one of our students in High Level. All other IPP's must be complete by 21 of October.
First Aide- Many of us really need this. We have two options. We can Take a Friday evening and a Saturday to do the Standard First Aide or we can send two of you out at a time to the local Safety Place and you can train with other people in the community taking that course. Please let me know if you would give up a Friday Evening and a Saturday to get certified?? We pay for the certification.
PGP's are due. I am waiting for only one.....Thanks to you if you have handed that into to me.
Budgets are released:
We are $3200 over spent for Learning Stores and $4200 over spent for Zama. We have a contingency found in each school which leaves learning Stores with $13,000 left in contingency. That's good news. In Zama we had $2300 in contingency which leaves us only about $2000 in the hole, which isn't to terribly bad considering all the things we had to purchase last year to support the curriculum.
On that note I am finalizing budgets and need to know if there are areas, you believe, we need to focus our money on. Please let me know what you are thinking...
Calm course 5 credits- The school division wants input on whether you think adding two financial courses 1010, 1020 to the calm is a good idea. They would make it a requirement for graduation ( to walk) for all students. There is a survey for you to fill out concerning that. It is just below.

So that was a lot of the info, we would have shared in our last staff meeting if we had one. Lots happening and that's good.
Have a good week. Please remember it is Tuesday when you return not Monday.
