Instruction and Programming

 CFS intervention checks are required by the diviison for each employee next year.
Scot Leys will get back to me about the La Crete,Fort, and Rainbow times. High Level can just skip over to cfs at anytime in the day to get theirs done. That is on my list of things to do. It must be done this month. All you do is fill out a little form show ID and then it's done.

 Student contacts please keep up with your input of student contacts. I say that as i am just updating mine from last week.  

 Diploma digital writers should have been recorded by now. 

 Diploma supervisors should be organized by now in location. No diploma writers in Rainbow this time. 

 Preparation for diplomas- as teachers we have to make sure our students are not blindsided by the diplomas. Preping them is our duty. Starting now to get them ready and make contact with them is a great idea. 

 Awards- each location has awards to give out. last week we sent out a final winners tally sheet. Please use that when you know who your winners are. 

 Ed Plan is Due at the end of the week. It is a living document, meaning we can change and update it at anytime when we receive data. 

 Grads should be completed 90% of their stuff to graduate. So far it looks like our kids are doing well with this. Just a few stragglers. 

 June 15th is our date for work to be handed in. We are wanting to stick to this date as we need the time to mark things and get marks into report cards. The kids have known this date forever so there are no excuses. There will be a rare exception but I am saying that will be very, very very, rare. Excuses like I'm having a baby, I'm just recovering from my back operation, or we have been evacuated from our home will be accepted!  

 CIF funds for Learning Stores- Bonnie will be ordering up the items we were okayed for. they must be ordered and on our visas by May 31. Thgis proposal included chairs of various types. Some wood for our community gardens and a garden cart for the garden. Chairs were the bulk of it.

 Year end BBQ's and events. By now we should have a date for each location. I'm hoping to attend all the festivities, that all depends on my grandbaby, she's/ he's pretty cooperative so I am saying I will make them all. I will call Jenine and Levi and finalize those dates.

 Outdoor classroom is evolving, at the moment our students who have community service hours to put in have been working it with grade ones and HLPS life skills students. If you are in town stop by and take a peek. 

 You get paid this week. Enjoy being rich for a day or two! Thanbsk for all you do. 

 There are 5 weeks to go to wind up our school year well. Students can get so much donme in the next three, please remind them to get it done. 

 There is NO summer school. 98% of the kids that take stuff out over the summer never finish. So lets be very judicious when signing anything out to a student. You know the student best. 

 Summer diplomas take place starting August 1st.

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
