Grateful

 This sunshine and heat is exactly what we needed, when we needed it!
Spring is not here, we will take the prespring feelings or gratitude.
I am grateful for being able to get outside and walk.
I am grateful for the birds. I am hear them and see them.
I am grateful for a job that matters.
I am grateful for people who care deeply about education and teenagers. 
So much to be grateful for.
Soon we will be grateful for Spring break.

 Staffing

 Anne- It's complicated.- I am delivering diplomas this week. Plus evaluations will be completed this week. 

 Monday- CRM training
Tuesday- High School Principal's meeting am,Rocky Lane student visit pm.
Wednesday- Fort 
Thursday- La Crete all day- meet with student 2:00 Home ED meeting 7:00 pm
Friday- High Level- prep for diplomas

 What's Goin' On

 Diplomas- teachers are contacting their students who are writing diplomas and making sure they have everything they need to feel prepared. All accommodations have already been requested.

 Diploma supervision- this schedule will be solidified this week. It is in the shared drive or refer to the email I sent it is attached. 

 Draw winner-Bonnie- congratulations- I will deliver your gift card to you. Your account of your teenage years was entered in the draw and ta da you win! Thanks to all who entered! 

 High School principal's meeting- Tuesday- I will include any new revelations in the Monday memo next week. 

 CRM training happens today- Allan, Chad, Linda and I will be taking this training. 

 CRM conference- Bonnie and I will be presenting on Thursday of next week in Edmonton at the CRM conference. We will be having CRM meetings in High Level and La Crete this week. I will be taking photos and maybe videos of our meetings to include in our presentation. 

 Home Education moves to its' new location today. It will look fabulous when it is done. Chad has done a lot of work paring down materials to what is essential. having this space close to the learning Store will give staff use of another bathroom and will give them a quiet place for lunch. Bonus!

Report Card Week A terrific way to catch up with our kids, a time to think deeply about that student and where they are going. A teacher always asks themselves , how well do i know that student. If the answer is not well, we seek to get to know them better next semester. Report Cards are valuable to the student and their families and the process is so valuable to us. We can always do better.  Thank Yous Thanks  so much to all of you who took in the PD last week. From chatting with you my thoughts were the sessions were valuable.  Thanks  to all who are organizing the Wing Ding in High Level this Tuesday. Many local organizations are coming in to inform our students.  Thanks to all who made student contacts this week. Talking personally to our kids seems to make a difference.  Staffing We are close to hiring for the position in Fort. Speedy Memo

While on the airplane, I looked quizzically at the woman beside me wearing a mask... Ha! Turns out She knew germs were flying around that plane. Now, I have those sickness germs and she's partying somewhere! Note to self...masks look ridiculous but keep you germ-free!!!  Or perhaps the story goes this way... she had some horrible cold and it seeped out from her mask to infect me... Either way, she has a part to play in this mini illness, of that I am sure!   Lots going on this week- please remember that we are 1 week from May our kids need to pour it on these next few weeks.   Stanley Cup playoffs are continuing with just a few rounds to finish. Go Toronto, go Winnipeg!  Report cards are due Wed they go home on Friday. Parent-teacher interviews are happening in the weeks ahead. Those dates will be solidified this week.  PAT part A is in for grade nines. That is written middle of May. Nait comes to High Level. A counselor and two journeyman carpenters are coming to

This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out;  people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him."  That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!  Congratulations Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine.
