Action
This week in our CRM's we talked about our students and assigned actions to several. We are starting to figure this out; people are coming forward to volunteer to do that action. In the past, we sat back waiting to see who might be assigned. Now, you are developing relationship with these students and are saying, " I can do that, I know her pretty well." or " I'd like to try to make contact with him, I have a soft spot for him." That is the way CRM's are supposed to function, thank you for stepping up. CRM's ground us for the month to come. No kid is falling through the cracks without us grabbing his or her arm and trying to pulling him back on track. Wow! Cliche ville there! All English teachers are cringing!
Congratulations
Congratulations to Eva, Bonnie, Dean and Jenine. The numbers in our buildings are finalized, that is a lot of work for you and we appreciate your patience.
Congratulations to Chad and Liz for such great numbers at his parent meeting on Thursday. There were twenty parents present and about 5 gorgeous babies! This group is a lovely group to work with.
Celebration for Allan, his operation is complete. Let the healing begin.
Students are getting their 15 credit hoodies. That's impressive, they are just so excited to receive them.
September is gone and we are welcoming October. Because of you, and your calm, cool attitude our start up was fabulous. We have plenty of students who are working diligently. Fort had more credits than we have ever seen in that location. Way to go Dean!

What's Up This Week
- Diploma writers on the list for November need to be reviewed this Monday. If the student is not writing please take him/her off the list as Alberta Ed. is getting very tight with their rules on this. Although, I carry the Outreach Banner they aren't caring greatly to read that Banner. So for instance, if Jason says I'm not writing in November please take him off the diploma list, so it will not appear on his DAR. Thank you for double checking this.
- Student Numbers- La Crete is up about 6 students from projections, Fort is right on target, High level is down about 12 from target( we targeted way high) but we are confident the moment October 1 comes those kids will roll into our buildings. Rainbow is up by two full time students there are 5 fulltimes.
- CRM- The CRM notes have been shared those who were listed for Action, should complete that action this week. Timeliness of the action is important. That means I better get moving with my list.
- PGP's are due tomorrow. we will have individual meetings next week concerning PGP's.
- CTS course offerings- Now that we are into October we should have a hard schedules calendar of the offerings of CTS courses for the year. Not necessarily specific dates but the month and who is facilitating the course. Everyone is expected to contribute one or two courses. Several of you do way more and we appreciate you going over and above for our kids. These are great times to build relationship with our kids.
- 8 colleagues will be honored in a retirement dinner on Saturday. EA's , teachers, bus drivers, central office staff. happy they are going on to enjoy retirement freedom.
- Conference in Edmonton- Thursday evening we will have a supper for all of us. At this time we will go over some discussion points and then check into the conference. I will send an email with the supper time. Please make arrangements among yourselves for the drive down. Again, thanks to Bonnie for making all the arrangements for the conference. Thanks to Alex for sitting on that committee.
- Meeting with Natalie Morris from central office, Monday morning. Natalie will spend the morning with us in High Level. She is seeking ways central can support us and is looking for the three focuses of Literacy, Math and connectivity in our buildings.
- Share grad plans with students- Holly and I have been sitting with kids since day one and sharing their grad plans with them even if they are in grade 10. She celebrates every credit with them as you do I'm sure. Please be sure to call a kid over and say, hey have you looked at you grad plan, what are you thinking of doing when you graduate? Do you have a job now? Sharing a grad plan is a great way to engage even the shy students.
- Enjoy your week. Please be sure to load students up with work for the two days teachers aren't there. That will help those who are in schools on those days. Thanks for that.
