Everyone is a Leader
There is something to learn from everyone we meet or listen to.We take form them what we need to take from them. We had a chance to listen to Jimmy and we take what we need from his words. I rumbled with him at LTM did not agree with everything but there were some interesting things that stuck. What stuck with you?
In our schools...
Do your words inspire others for success or shame?
Are your words pulling us together?
Do your actions result in wellness or weariness?
Do you dismiss the needs of others?
Do you dismiss the gifts of others?
Wherever we are in our school culture, we are moving towards being champs in our schools. Purposeful champs, sometime I think it just happens that we are champs to our students, and we don't even know what we did. All of that great stuff you do is appreciated and now we need to note it. What is it we do that makes us champs? What is it that is average and can be improved upon?
Let's Celebrate!
Several years ago Dean Wheeler began the hard work of creating a home school program from the bottom up. NHEC was very successful in pulling students away from other homeschooling vendors to us at FVSD.
on Friday Liz, Chad accepted an award for The Home Education Program. Chad has taken this program and added his touch, service learning. He includes service to the families. Families are appreciating the offerings of the program and the word is out that NHEC is a great provider of education in the whole division from Zama to La Crete. So we celebrate on this day the achievement of NHEC in doubling it's population, in being a great provider of education and in being champs for the families of home education. Way to go Liz and Chad you need to celebrate this well deserved award!!! We are almost as excited as you are!!
Getting together- It was great getting together with you on Friday. It is always fabulous when we meet. We reiterate the cool vibe we have as a staff. We look after each other and do the same for our kids.
When I say we need to share our successes. make it a habit of sharing when something cool happens. Ie: Jenine text a student named Mercy. Mercy text back how difficult university seemed and that now she is getting a handle on things. That is a cool success. One of our students in High Level who has spent a little time on the streets texts me Sunday night and says Mrs. roberts can I come in to the Learning Store to finish up my courses. Yes, my dear you sure can!!!! How brave id she have to be to send that text!

Next week a group of us are off to Edmonton. We leave Thursday. Please put in your leave request for that time. Huge thanks to Bonnie for making all the arrangements for that crew! Can we be sure to put up signs letting students know that school is open in High Level and La Crete but no teachers are available.
What's Going On?
PGP's are due the end of the month.
CRM's are happening tomorrow in High Level and Thursday at 3:00 in La Crete. I changed this time due to Allan being out an extra half day on Wednesday. Trying to cover High Level. Excited to have conversations about the students.
CRM preparation- you should have made contact with your kids. Should know what they have completed and have questions or facts to share. Just be prepared. Photos of students will really help here.
Student numbers will be handed in this Friday. Please be sure they are accurate and you have started shaking the sugar trees to find your lost students. Some kids need to have someone invite them back.
Standard- Thank you for modelling a igh standard for our kids. There are concepts they need to be taught and there is a standard we set as educators. Our standard is different for each student but it is a high standard.
Enjoy these fall days of blue skies and gorgeous sunshine. These are days to be outdoors with our faces to the sunshine. In january you'll be so happy you took the time to enjoy the sun.
Again apologies for the errors,if i try to fix it everything erases. I don't got time for that!
