Jocularity

jocular Do you like to make a lot of jokes? Are you often silly? Are you usually happy? If so, then you are a  jocular  person. I'm expanding my vocabulary through a game called Words with friends. It's true that we seldom expand our vocabularies unless pressed to do so. Learning a new word or two each day keeps the mind fresh.  Staffing Paul is out today. I am in Zama all day  tomorrow, as there is a Parent Council meeting in the evening.  I am in Rainbow on Wednesday. We have a student there who will be taking the Rig Simulator Course. Keep Your Face to The Sunshine But Wear Sunscreen!!!

Image
This the season where the sun stays up until 10:00 and students are up well passed that. Sleep is such an integral part of a person's well being. Our body requires sleep to regulate itself. Interrupted sleep or lack of ,can cause havoc to the human mind and body. I've been in education a long time and have a rule when I see a kid sleeping I let them sleep. They need the sleep.  Another  good check for our students is to offer them food. For many of our students proper nutrition is an issue. We need to make sure we have healthy food and healthy snacks available for our students and for staff when they need a nutrition boost. You each have a visa card and should be able to supply fruit for your schools. Except Zama where I usually bring snacks and fruit out.  Thank You Thanks to Alex who was acting admin when i was away two days last week. The days were event free and Alex saw how easy it is to be admin! Tha...

Welcome Spring

Image
So it is that Spring has arrived. Soon many of us will have some well needed relaxation time. We are fortunate in our line of work to have intermittent breaks which allow us to keep well mentally. When you look at many people working in our communities  they do not have those wellness breaks. Many moms and dads have only two weeks off a year to spend with their kids/families. We can see how the stresses would mount. We can empathize with them feeling like they can't catch up. So, please use your time wisely and look after yourself, we owe it to those who do not have intermittent holidays to enjoy to the fullest. We will come back refreshed and are ready again to take on the role of the best educators we can be.  La Crete, Rainbow and Fort Vermilion Learning Stores have a holiday next week. High Level and Zama have holidays beginning April 9th.  Thank yous Thanks to all who sponsored people for the WE ARE SILENT campaign in High Lev...
