Who you are makes a difference!!

Image
Who you are makes a difference! Wow! It was really a heart felt experience to be able to tell you guys what a difference you make in our lives. Imagine the feeling the kids are going to have when you do that ceremony for them. We have the ribbons for you and will put them in your box.  The next step is for them to give a ribbon to someone who makes a difference in their lives. But, we've run out of ribbon so we have blue ribbon that they can tie on someones wrist. They may choose to have the wrist ribbon tied on by you then give the nice blue one to the other person they want to recognize.  Repeat after me:  Who I am makes a difference.  Who I am makes a difference.  Congratulations to you: Fern will be recognized soon for 30 years with the division. Fern is our constant, our leader our best! Think of the kids she has helped over the years!!  Marvin will be recognized for 15 ...

So glad you are all rested and you have found yourself again. Hoping your journeys had you realizing that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing- that is impacting people every day. Huge congrats to you!   We have fantastic news on many fronts this week. It has people moving away from us but it also has people living their dreams which is soooo what we are all about!!!  Great news bulletin number one: Carmen Shaw is soon to be working for CFS. We are so proud she can use her sociology degree for good and help the families who really need a hand. Knowing CFS recognizes people who build relationships are the people you want working for you is paramount. She will be fabulous there and we are so excited for her!! Now for us that sucks  - but we always manage to get the best people to come back into this building... Its uncanny but its true!! Congrats hugs to you my girl we are so happy...

Artist ISH!!!

Let your brain go there! House ish, vase ish, art ish!!!  This week we are going to peek or brains and the brains of our kids. It surely is evident that Natalia ( and i) believe there to be an artist hidden in all of us. Most of us suppress any feelings of creativity and artistry. I've heard staff say: I can't draw, I haven't got an artistic bone in my body, I'm horrible at that. Research says it is not true. Your brain can appreciate and embrace art if you let it. Open those doors that you nailed shut and allow yourself to be free. Gone is the perfectionist, gone is judgement, gone is the scaredy cat who wont even try. You get to be free, free to be you, free to celebrate that ISH side of you this week! Take advantage of it its a new experience its a blessing you've been given this week!  Art builds dendrites - worksheets don't.  Staffing Many dancers are out this week. If th...

Good day Everyone, You make your own weather. It may be Spring on Vancouver Island but we have a little ways to go yet. Whatever the weather, you make your own weather. The way to react to the day makes your own weather.  I just wrote in my journal the three things I was grateful for that is so calming and it makes me smile that I am fortunate and know it. Hoping this exercise makes you think deeply and know you are someone who is clear and  can see the beauty around you. Beauty in people and in nature and in moments.   Yesterday some students and I watched three ravens chasing each other for over two minutes it was the most fabulous feat of flying tricks ever. We all laughed at how agile they were through the trees. They just weren't giving up, they wanted the first raven's cookie, Must have been chocolate chip!  Hugs and Positive thoughts wanted; Michelle's Mom Roberta, the toughest lady ...

March Monday Blog

Wow, what temperatures! Spring is wanting to arrive, I can feel her in the air! It is light until about 8:00 now. Please note that on Friday we had two little people who had fits and when we put them in the room they slept soundly for a couple of hours. The growliness and the grumpiness aren't planned, these kids are just tired. I'm owly when I'm tired, kids aren't any different. Got a grumpy kid, try having him/her come for a little nap and see if that will get them back to learning.  Staffing We welcome back an integral part of out staff, Shane. It's never okay when one of us is out. We feared we may lose him for the year, thankfully that isn't the case ( this week). We're so fortunate to have you back, the kids have been asking for you, staff and parents too. Especially, Mrs. Ried!   Braedyn is in for the library- Monday and Tuesday Perry is in for Marvin Monday and Tuesday. Sheena Pittman is in f...
